You would need to adapt it to natural gas, because the heat content of natural gas is not as great as propane. The air/fuel mix would change and the pressure is different.
When something can be adapted, it usually takes a new orifice plate to meter the gas, and a different pressure regulator.

What are the pros and cons of those two. I need a quick answer please they are selling them 20 dollars at this store last day.

We have just recently moved and our gas company says it will take a month to hook up a new service line. Can I convert to propane and where do I get the parts at?

I have a Luxaire Model UH040LC Series NA-LAM Airplane hangar heater that I just bought off of ebay to heat my garage. These heaters were also used in homes across America as heaters for garages. I have hooked up the propane and actually had the heater lit, but I have heard and I already know that supposedly you cannot just hook LP up to a natural gas appliance and be O.K. When the thermostat kicked the unit on, the flames got pretty out of controland were yellow in color instead of small and blue like I know they should be. Do I need to change the orifices out or scrap the project all together, and if I do need to change them out, where can I get them and how hard is it?

I am looking at buying 2 patio heaters. Can anyone tell me the efficiency/cost difference of using Natural Gas as opposed to Propane. I will be using the heaters through February only and would be going through approximately $100 of propane per week while using the heaters over the winter. The Natural Gas heater costs about 50% more than the propane heater, but would I make up the cost in using natural gas?

Recently, however, we contacted a Minimax part dealer who stated that we would need a new burner, valve and orifices to the tune of 400 dollars. Is this correct and if not what do we need to do to convert our heater to use propane?

we are looking at converting our water heater. we were told we need to get a new water heater to go from propane to natural gas. is that true? someone else said we could just change some valves or something. anyone know

I was unable to pay my pg&e bill and they shut off my gas. I’m not thinking of trying to use propane in place of natural gas for all of my gas appliances or anything. And I would only turn the propane on when I needed hot water for a shower or something and then I’d shut it off. It would only be occasionally if it is able to work.
